Book of the month "Go Ask Alice" by Anonomus

I consider the theme of this book is the lack and difficulty of communication because this diary explains to the readers how addiction can be related to lack of communication. Alice starts writing on a diary because she has no one else to talk to. So, she goes off looking for drugs such as LCD ,but the reason she does drugs is because she is in search for someone to relate to her and can understand her. I think that the drugs are in touch with nature and human beings. Her diary is her only escape to her understatement. Many would assume her friends drove he down this road, but in reality her parents started her use of drugs. For example, she can never talk openly to her parents about her emotions and thoughts, only to her diary.

This diary realates to the real world because many teens (like Alice) do drugs because of lack of attention, loneliness and or missunderstandment. In addition to there feeling, teens think drugs are a great escape for the real world but in reality it is only more dangerous to drive in the wrong direction. Another major problem of drug use is that it begins because teens can not talk openly to their parents. So, they create an illusions that this can happen by "escaping" with drugs.
